Moriah Apartments.” The project has a combination of multiple structures and styles, one manor building, garden-style, and carriage units. These units will have multiple amenities while it is all located on nearly 11 acres off Mt. Moriah Road in Durham near the Patterson Place shopping center -- near Interstate 40 at Highway 501.

"Okay, so you enter into the dining area, kitchen area," she said. She described the amenities while the dishwasher hummed and dryer rumbled. A mountain bike stood beside her couch in the living room.

CHAPEL HILL Getting the call about an apartment at Greenfield Place on Legion Road, where his mother could be closer to her doctor, was a blessing, BJ Johnson said. The 80-unit complex opened in January, with more than 70 people who did not get in on a waiting list. The Johnsons were on the list, too, until someone else dropped out.

Construction of an apartment project on Independence Boulevard near Echo Farms is expected to begin soon after the development company worked out a sewer capacity solution for the site. Woodfield Investments bought the wooded property at 3938 and 3970 Independence Boulevard for nearly $1.7 million from Wilson and Angie Ki, according to a July 13 deed recorded in New Hanover County.

Grubb Ventures has closed a $67.8 million deal for a 283-unit luxury apartment complex called Sojourn Lake Boone, located just inside the I-440 Beltline at Lake Boone Trail. The buyer is NewTower Trust Company, a Maryland firm that has $7 billion in gross assets under management. The sale included two parcels totaling 33.1 acres, behind Martin Middle School, according to Wake County property records. The price tag works out to $239,576 per unit.

Construction has begun on the new five-story, nearly $40 million Sojourn Glenwood Place infill apartment complex at the long-established Glenwood Place business park on Glenwood Avenue in Raleigh. Site work had started back in July with the clearing of nearly 13 acres of trees, and vertical construction is now underway with an expectation that first tenants will start moving in fall 2017.
